Well hello there lovely blogosphere, I have missed you so!
I’m not exactly sure how I managed to neglect my poor blog for the past month and a half, but finally I have returned.
I received a number emails from people wondering if a) I was still alive and/or b) if Dave and I were still together. The answer to both is yes, absolutely!
So what the heck have we been doing all this time then? Well here’s a mini recap to fill ya in!
*****
We got a new rocket ship car:

Bye-bye SL, hello C63! This thing is deafeningly loud and scary fast. Also, I think it has replaced me as Dave’s favorite thing in the world. Womp womp.
We took a much needed vacation together to Centre Parcs:

Where we fell in love with target archery:

And we were actually pretty good! (This is one of my targets):

Look at all those (almost) bulls-eyes! Just call me Katniss Everdeen ;)
We fed our duck friends loads of food every morning:

I’m currently working on convincing Dave that we need a pet duck.
He kicked my butt in badminton (and every other activity we did too..):

And of course, we spent loads of time in the subtropical paradise:

Since we were totally stuck in vacation mode when we returned home we decided to book another trip. So four months from now we’ll be on our merry way to Florida! Two weeks for Dave and 10 for me, wooohoo!
And last but certainly not least, I must mention the package I received today from the lovely Sarah.

She saw my tweet about my new life goal being “try a macaroon” and sent me this sweet package as a thank you for doing her a special wedding related favor!
So far I’ve only tried the white one, but oh my gosh is it heavenly. Gonna have to have Dave hide the boxes from me so I can savor these babies.

So there ya have it, that’s what we’ve been up to all this time. Hopefully I’ll get back into the swing of things with posting regularly, but either way I’ll still be keeping up with all of you.
Have a happy hump day!xo

Hello from freezing cold England!
I’m happy to report that I did in fact survive my Friday the 13th flight and the only crazy thing that happened was I actually slept the entire time. I usually have so much trouble sleeping on planes, but this one was so empty that I was able to curl up in a little ball across two seats and snooze the night away. It was awesome.
Dave scooped me up from the airport early Saturday morning and surprised me with these beauties:

I hadn’t gotten flowers in a looong time, so this was a very sweet surprise :)
(Plus little did he know he would be contributing to the DIY project that I’m about to share with you all!)

I don’t know if it’s that fact that I just discovered the wonderful world of Pinterest (love it, btw) or what, but I have been itching to do all sorts of DIY projects over the last few weeks.
So as I was sitting at my parents house trying to think of something fun I could make for the flat I saw my bigĀ blue letter K that I used to have in my condo.

Since blue isn’t part of the color scheme in our condo I figured this would be the perfect piece to do a little decor revamp with. So I bought some spray paint and sharpies and got down to business!

I did loads of coats on the K, but still had spray paint left so I decided to cover a glass vase to go with it.
Next, I took some metallic sharpies and traced the designs:

For any areas where I went outside the lines (oops) I just colored over the marks with a black sharpie.
And voila, the finished project:

The fact that my favorite flower is in the vase makes me love it even more :)

This little project turned out so well that I’m eager to try another one, so feel free to share any ideas or DIY projects that you’ve tried. In the meantime I’ll just be over here endlessly scrolling through Pinterest ideas!

Spending 11 hours on a plane on Friday the 13th isn’t exactly my idea of a good time.
You know what else isn’t my idea of a good time?
Leaving this:

For this:

Luckily it doesn’t actually look like this in Sheff at the moment (knock on wood).
Safe to say I’m pretty bummed about leaving my family and the glorious Florida sunshine behind, especially on a weird day like today.
Not that I really believe in superstitions or anything, but you have to admit flying on Friday the 13th is kinda creepy. I’m crossing my fingers (feel free to cross yours too) that there won’t be any crazies on this long plane journey.
See you all on the flip side!xo
